Monsieur Brunold — A New York Atelier for Made-to-Measure & Bespoke Menswear

Monsieur Brunold is a private made-to-measure and bespoke menswear atelier in the heart of NoHo, Manhattan. From our showroom at 77 Bleecker Street, we dress executives, grooms, creatives, and discerning gentlemen who want a suit cut for them — not for a size chart.

A craft inherited

The atelier was founded in 2016 by Charles Brunold, a French-born tailor with more than fifteen years in the custom menswear industry. Born into a family whose roots in St. Gallenkirch trace back over five centuries, Charles carries a heritage of European craftsmanship into every garment that leaves the atelier. He began his career in Europe, immersed in the traditions of French and Italian tailoring, before bringing that discipline to New York. Today, every client at Monsieur Brunold is fitted personally by Charles or a senior cutter trained in his standards.

The craft

Every commission begins with a conversation and over twenty individual measurements. We work in two registers: made-to-measure, where a base pattern is adjusted to your body and finished in our partner ateliers; and bespoke, where a unique paper pattern is drafted from scratch and the garment is hand-cut, hand-padded, and hand-finished. Both share the same standards of cloth, canvas, and fit — the difference is in the depth of handwork and the time we spend with the cloth.

The cloth

We work directly with the most respected mills in Europe — Loro Piana, Vitale Barberis Canonico, Drago, Holland & Sherry, Dormeuil, Fox Brothers, and Thomas Mason for shirting. Our fabric library carries hundreds of swatches across worsted wools, flannels, fresco weaves, linens, cottons, silks, cashmere, vicuna, and dinner-suit cloths. Clients choose by hand, in person, in the showroom.
