A French Discipline, Practiced in New York

Monsieur Brunold was founded on a simple conviction: that a suit is not an object but a proportion — the distance between a shoulder and a lapel, a sleeve and a wrist, a man and the room he walks into.

Our Heritage

The house was built on French tailoring practice, where the craft is understood as an architecture of the body: the canvas that gives a jacket its chest, the drape that lets it move, the restraint that keeps it from announcing itself.

Since 2016, we have kept that method intact while dressing a city that rewards precision and forgives nothing.

The Brunold behind Monsieur Brunold

The atelier was founded in 2016 by Charles Brunold, a French-born tailor with more than fifteen years in the custom menswear industry. Born into a family whose roots in St. Gallenkirch trace back over five centuries, Charles carries a heritage of European craftsmanship into every garment that leaves the atelier.

He began his career in Europe, immersed in the traditions of French and Italian tailoring, before bringing that discipline to New York. Today, every client at Monsieur Brunold is fitted personally by Charles or a senior cutter trained in his standards.

The House - Our NoHo Pride

In a quiet corner amidst the city’s chaos, our masterpieces are born on Bleecker Street. One client at a time, for as long as it takes.
