Dressing well stopped being about suits some time ago, and most men's wardrobes never adjusted. The result is a closet with excellent tailoring on one end, sportswear on the other, and nothing at all in the middle — which is precisely where modern life is now lived.

Ease Is Harder to Cut Than Formality
Softness exposes everything. A structured jacket hides a multitude — canvas, padding, and shape do the work. Remove them, as casual tailoring does, and the garment sits directly on the body. There is nothing left to correct a bad fit. Unstructured tailoring is where made-to-measure stops being a luxury and becomes the only method that works.
Casual is a specification, not an absence. Patch pockets or flapped. Half-lined or unlined. Soft shoulder or slightly extended. Three-roll-two. Barchetta chest pocket. These are the decisions that separate a relaxed jacket from a suit jacket worn without its trousers — and every one of them is made at the fitting.
